Invisalign braces are also known as invisible braces. Due to its many benefits, this plastic brace has become a popular alternative to the more common braces. At Astondental, we can help you achieve a straighter row of teeth through invisible braces.

Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign uses a series of invisible and removable aligners to straighten your teeth. This gives you a more comfortable and less painful option. Another benefit that many people appreciate is that, unlike metal braces, the plastic trays can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing. Another advantage is that the treatment is shorter compared to traditional orthodontics and rarely requires the extraction of a tooth. The whole process of Invisalign takes an average of 9-18 months, where you usually visit your dentist every 6 weeks.

How does Invisalign work?

Before your treatment plan, you and dentist Shahla Hassanzadeh will discuss the end result. Once your case is submitted to Invisalign, you will be shown a 3D model, called a Clincheck, of your teeth before and after treatment. Together you will review this to make sure it matches the desired result.

Each aligner is then worn for about 1-2 weeks each, until your teeth reach their final position. Some short-term irritation may occur each time you change the plastic tray. However, this discomfort is significantly less than that with traditional metal braces. You may also experience minor speech difficulties, but this will not lasting long.

Cost of Invisalign

Many people think that Invisalign costs much more than traditional braces. But surprisingly, the prices are relatively consistent. The cost of Invisalign is slightly higher than more traditional and tooth-colored braces because of the laboratory fee.
