Invisalign: The Unobtrusive Way to a More Beautiful Smile

By Dr. Shahla Hassanzadeh, Dentist

A beautiful smile is not only a joy to look at, it can also have a positive impact on our self-esteem and confidence. For many people, traditional braces have been the traditional solution to correct dental problems and improve dental health. But now there is a modern and discreet solution that offers great results without compromising on comfort and appearance - Invisalign.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a revolutionary orthodontic method that uses customized, clear plastic aligners to align teeth. These trays are specially designed for each individual based on their unique orthodontic needs. With regular shifts of the trays, which are made in a progressive sequence, Invisalign gently moves the teeth into their desired positions over time.

Advantages of Invisalign:

  1. Discretion: One of the most obvious benefits of Invisalign is its discretion. The clear aligners are barely noticeable, allowing you to straighten your teeth without having to worry about the aesthetic impact of traditional metal braces.
  2. Comfort: Invisalign braces are made of soft and comfortable plastic, and they rarely cause the discomfort or sores sometimes associated with traditional braces and wires.
  3. Easy Maintenance: The Invisalign aligners are easy to remove during meals and when brushing your teeth, making it easy to maintain good oral hygiene during treatment.
  4. Faster Results: Many patients find that Invisalign provides faster results than traditional braces, although it varies depending on each individual's unique situation. And that very rarely a tooth extraction is needed, which is a must in most cases with traditional braces.
  5. Versatile Use: Invisalign can be used to correct a variety of orthodontic problems, including over- or underbite, crossbite, and crowded or sparse teeth.

Is Invisalign right for you?

Invisalign is an excellent option for many patients who wish to improve their alignment and smile. However, it is important to consult with an experienced dentist or orthodontist to determine if Invisalign is right for your specific situation. A thorough evaluation and a customized treatment plan will help ensure you get the results you desire.

Conclusion:

Invisalign has changed the world of orthodontics by offering a discreet, comfortable and effective method of achieving a beautiful smile. It's a great solution for people of all ages who want to improve both their dental health and their self-confidence. If you are considering orthodontics and value discretion and comfort, Invisalign is definitely worth considering.

Thanks to its many benefits, this plastic brace has become a popular alternative to the more common braces. At Astondental, we help you achieve a straighter row of teeth through invisible braces.

Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign uses a series of invisible and removable aligners to straighten your teeth. This gives you a more comfortable and less painful option. Another benefit that many people appreciate is that the plastic aligners, unlike metal braces, can be removed for eating, drinking, brushing and flossing, another benefit is that the treatment is shorter compared to the traditional orthodontic treatment and rarely need to extract a tooth. The whole process of Invisalign takes an average of 3-12 months, where you usually visit your dentist every 6 weeks.

How does Invisalign work?

Prior to your treatment plan, you will discuss the final result with Dr.Shahla Hassanzadeh. Once your case has been submitted to Invisalign, you will see a 3D model, called a Clincheck, of your teeth before and after treatment. Together you will review this to make sure it matches the desired result.

Each aligner is then worn for about 1-2 weeks each, until your teeth reach their final position. Some short-term irritation may occur each time you change the plastic tray. However, this discomfort is significantly less than that with traditional metal braces. You may also experience minor speech difficulties, but this will not lasting long.

Cost

Many people think that Invisalign costs much more than traditional braces. Surprisingly, however, prices are relatively stable. The cost of Invisalign is slightly higher than more traditional and tooth-coloured braces, this is due to the laboratory fee.

For minor deviations, veneers may be an alternative treatment. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us and we will arrange a meeting to determine your needs.
